Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager

Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC, responsible for managing key accounting functions that support the firm’s operations and growth. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate month-end and year-end closes. The role will handle financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as analysis of project costs, margins, and cash flow. The Senior Accountant will manage accounts payable and receivable processes, coordinate with vendors and clients, and support payroll and compliance-related activities as needed. This position also collaborates with leadership to develop financial insights, improve internal controls, and refine accounting procedures aligned with the company’s growth and project demands. Qualifications Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or project-based environments. Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, reporting). Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and compliance practices, with the ability to maintain accurate records and support audits. Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to work on-site and partner with operations, project managers, and leadership. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus. 5+ years of accounting experience; prior work in architectural millwork, construction, or manufacturing is highly beneficial.
