Job Posting Title: Executive Director of Accounting Position Type: Professional / Unclassified Department: LSUA Chancellor - Division of Finance and Administration (Amanda L Cain (00005157)) Work Location: LSU - Alexandria Pay Grade: Professional Job Description: JOB DESCRIPTION – Executive Director of Accounting DEPARTMENT: Finance POSITION TITLE: Executive Director of Accounting SUPERVISOR: Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administrative Services PURPOSE: The Executive Director of Accounting oversees all accounting services at the University.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll allocations, and month-end or year-end close processes. Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) rules, and federal or state regulations. Provide daily oversight and direction to the Accounting, Student Accounting, and Bursar Department staff. Assist in the planning, development and management of university finances. Manage university financial reports in conjunction with LSU Baton Rouge. Provide high level oversight of all university finances including all funding sources: Unrestricted, Restricted, Auxiliary, Sponsored Programs, Agency, and Private funding. Manage Department of Education fund processing. Provide communication to the campus community regarding information from within the department. Maintain content on the Accounting Services website. Update as needed with current information such as tuition and fees, refund dates, payment due dates, and important announcements. Research, analyze, and compile information to prepare reports. Provides/assists LSU Baton Rouge Accounting team for all year-end financial information and any other required reports. Assists with bank reconciliations. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for Board of Regents and LSU Baton Rouge. Administrative access to financial software for updates as needed. Oversees the quarterly accounts receivable submission to OSRAP. Oversees the submission of the form 1098-T. Assist Director of Student Accounting and Bursar with any student issues. Reconciliation of Power Campus to Workday. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s Degree in any field with a minimum of three (3) years in Higher Education Finance leadership role required. Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel required. Experience with Intuit QuickBooks preferred. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from university student/faculty/staff/administration, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or other University employees. Effective verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills. Ability to negotiate and defuse conflict. Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative. HOURS: Eight (8) hours per day, Monday - Friday 40 hours a week.
