Step into a rewarding role supporting student success as a Sign Language Interpreter for a contract assignment at a middle school near Fort Smith, AR. You’ll play an essential part in providing 1:1 interpreting services to ensure a student’s full access to curriculum and school life. This full-time, onsite position runs through late May, offering consistent weekday hours in a dynamic educational environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide direct interpreting services for a middle school student in classroom and school-related settings
• Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and educational staff
• Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) with professionalism and accuracy
• Support the student’s academic, social, and extracurricular participation
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school and professional standards
• Collaborate with educators and support staff for optimal student outcomes

Qualifications That Make You a Great Fit:

• Valid State of Arkansas Interpreter License required
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), with Spanish bilingual ability highly valued
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings preferred
• Comfortable working full days (37.5 hours/week) in an onsite educational environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and collaborative spirit
• MSL (Manual Sign Language) knowledge considered a plus
• Capable of working independently while being part of a multidisciplinary team
