Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:


The ER Clinical Nurse is a registered professional nurse responsible for delivering safe, high-quality emergency care to a designated patient population. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide urgent and emergent patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions based on current nursing standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and revise individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions, ensuring understanding and readiness.
• Demonstrate proficient use of clinical skills, including Critical Care protocols, in managing trauma and acute medical cases.
• Practice accurate documentation of care activities, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and institutional standards.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and process efficiency through active participation and adherence to high-reliability practices.

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS RN license with necessary certifications (ACLS, BLS, PALS preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine experience with adult and/or pediatric patients.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, or CEN are advantageous.
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records system is highly preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
