Warehouse Customer Service Associate

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Warehouse Customer Service Associate to join a busy building materials distribution yard. This role combines customer service, warehouse operations, inventory management, and forklift operation. You'll work directly with contractors, landscapers, dealers, and homeowners while helping ensure products are accurately received, stored, and staged for delivery or pickup.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in person and over the phone with product inquiries and order placement.
• Prepare quotes, create sales tickets, and process customer orders.
• Pull, stage, and load customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Operate sit-down gas forklifts and material handling equipment to move products throughout the yard and warehouse.
• Receive incoming shipments and verify products using an iPad and inventory systems.
• Unload trailers and place products in designated warehouse and yard locations.
• Stage customer orders for pickup and delivery.
• Conduct quality checks on incoming and outgoing loads to ensure accuracy.
• Rotate inventory and maintain organized storage locations.
• Coordinate with delivery drivers, warehouse personnel, and customers to ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment inside the warehouse and throughout the yard.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, yard, distribution, or building materials experience preferred.
• Forklift experience required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to use computers, tablets, calculators, and inventory software.
• Good math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, move, and load heavy materials throughout the workday.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
