Senior Accountant – Manufacturing / Operational Accounting Harmer has been engaged by our client in their search for a Senior Accountant to support key accounting and operational finance functions within a manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, partnering with plant and operations teams, and owning meaningful pieces of the close, reporting, variance analysis, inventory, fixed assets, and cost accounting process. Opportunity Highlights Strong compensation package, including base salary, annual bonus, and quarterly bonus potential Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days work from home High-visibility role supporting manufacturing operations and business leadership Opportunity to own key areas of plant, divisional, and operational accounting Ideal role for a self-starter who enjoys problem-solving, analysis, and process improvement Strong fit for candidates coming from public accounting, manufacturing, or a combination of both What You Will Do Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting packages Prepare and analyze financial results, including balance sheet, P&L, manufacturing statements, and supporting schedules Partner with plant leadership, operations, accounting, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams Analyze variances to budget, forecast, prior year, and operational expectations; identify root causes and communicate key drivers Support inventory accounting, standard cost updates, BOM reviews, reserves, revaluations, and related operational analysis Assist with fixed asset accounting, capital spending, AFE tracking, disposals, transfers, and periodic asset verification Prepare plant-level, divisional, and management reporting used to support operational decision-making Support budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and financial analysis for assigned areas Ensure appropriate documentation, internal controls, SOX compliance, and adherence to company accounting policies Assist with internal and external audit requests Identify process improvement opportunities and help drive continuous improvement across accounting and reporting areas Support ad hoc projects and analysis as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required 4+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred Public accounting experience preferred; Big 4 or large regional firm experience is highly valued CPA, MBA, CMA, or Master’s degree preferred Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred Cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, plant accounting, or operational accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience partnering with operations, plant leadership, or cross-functional business teams preferred SAP and/or BPC experience preferred Strong Excel, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Self-starter with the ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization #J-18808-Ljbffr Harmer
