Senior Accountant

Director @ EXERGY | Recruitment Consultancy Specialist A global industrial services and manufacturing organization with operations across North America and internationally is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Houston-based finance team. The business supports customers in energy, infrastructure, and heavy industry and operates within a complex, asset-intensive environment. This is a hands‑on, general accounting role with broad responsibility across financial reporting, controls, and operational finance. Candidates from manufacturing, industrial services, engineering, or closely related sectors are strongly encouraged to apply. Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in accordance with US GAAP Prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and detailed variance analysis Review and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset accounting Support budgeting and forecasting activities in partnership with operational stakeholders Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures Assist with statutory reporting, external audits, and internal audit requirements Support cash management, working capital analysis, and intercompany accounting Partner with operations, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within accounting processes and systems Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred (or in progress) 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Background in manufacturing, industrial services, engineering, or similar operational environments preferred Strong knowledge of US GAAP Advanced Excel skills; ERP system experience (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar) Detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a deadline‑driven environment What’s on Offer Broad, end‑to‑end accounting responsibility rather than a narrow specialist role Exposure to a global, operationally focused business Strong interaction with operations and senior finance leadership Competitive salary and benefits package Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Oil and Gas and Manufacturing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at EXERGY by 2x Get notified about new Accountant jobs in Houston, TX . #J-18808-Ljbffr EXERGY
