What You'll Do
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic analysis, including tissue processing and embedding
- Section and cut tissue blocks using microtome and cryostat
- Perform staining procedures such as Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) and basic dye stains
- Prepare slides for review and coverslipping
- Handle excision specimens, frozen sections, biopsies, and related procedures
- Maintain lab equipment including cryostat, stainer, and microscope
- Follow laboratory safety protocols and quality standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic medical records
What You Need
Required
- Valid in-state license and ASCP-HT certification
- BLS certification
- At least 1 year of histology laboratory experience
- Experience with tissue processing, microtomy, and staining
- Ability to work 2 days per week (Tuesday & Wednesday), 8-hour shifts
Preferred
- Experience with MOHs procedures and skin cancer processing
- Familiarity with hospital or reference laboratory environments
- Knowledge of EMR systems
