Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial and/or commercial sewing machines and be able to perform alterations, repairs, and custom sewing work with precision. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow patterns or instructions, and the ability to produce high-quality work in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial and standard sewing machines to manufacture, alter, and repair garments, uniforms, or fabric-based products
- Read and interpret patterns, specifications, or design instructions
- Measure, cut, and sew fabric according to project requirements
- Perform quality control to ensure accuracy, alignment, and finish of final products
- Maintain sewing equipment and work area in a clean and organized condition
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines
- Assist in selecting materials and supplies as needed
- Follow all safety and company procedures during work
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a seamstress, tailor, or sewing machine operator required
- Familiarity with various types of fabrics, threads, and techniques
- Ability to read patterns, take measurements, and make alterations
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to use hands and fingers for sewing-related tasks
- May be required to lift or move materials up to 25 lbs
