Respiratory Therapist (NICU) - Baptist

Position Overview This role provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for in‑patients and out‑patients across all age groups. The Respiratory Therapist – CRT performs RT‑CRT set‑ups, monitors, weans oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, draws and analyzes arterial blood gases and EKGs, delivers intermittent therapy, and assists with artificial airway changes. Education and Experience Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s preferred. Work Experience: None required. Sign‑on bonus: $25,000. Certifications Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice. Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 90 days. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Computer skills for data entry and retrieval. Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and specific role software. Strong interpersonal skills. Job Duties Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Review and document all clinical information for each patient. Educate patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures. Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of each patient. Adapt behavior to patient population, respecting privacy and communication style. Other related duties as required. Physical and Environmental Demands Extremely heavy physical demands including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly. Requires frequent stooping, bending, reaching, and manual dexterity. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods, travel throughout facilities, and work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on‑call availability).
