Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.The OpportunityReporting to the Manager of SCADA IT Operations, Information Services, the Infrastructure Specialist is an expert in administrating and running major infrastructure components for TC Energy’s mission critical IS systems.As an experienced infrastructure specialist, the successful applicant will provide support and maintenance to ensure a properly stable and reliable 24/7/365 operation of infrastructure services that meet business desired service levels. Infrastructure components include, Intel Hardware, Operating Systems, Active Directory, Virtualization, and Storage. This role will be responsible for technology stability/upgrades, patch management, critical patch updates, system configuration, and security programs. Working closely with application teams, end users, IS security, project management, DBAs, and network operations staff will be required to provide a continuous uptime experience.What you'll doSupport ongoing safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical IS systems through maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, corrective action and administration of multiple infrastructuresInstall, configure, administer, and maintain compute and storage environmentsProactively monitor and manage the environment for hardware failures, software failures, and performance problemsCollaborate with internal operations staff across business units, IS, and third-party service providers when troubleshooting complex issuesDevelop and maintain system documentation, operating procedures and inventoryDevelop and maintain lifecycle plans and roadmapsPerform capacity monitoring and managementEnsure compliance with regulatory requirementsParticipate in major infrastructure projectsProvide assistance with Business Continuity planning and Data Center contingenciesEnsure the security of TC Energy systems and respond promptly to security incidentsPlan and coordinate major system upgradesMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a technical diploma in a related discipline4+ years server support experiencePreferred Qualifications8+ years experienceMCSE/MSITPSolid understanding and hands on experience supporting current and legacy Windows server operating systems including 2016, 2012, 2008, and 2003Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, support staff, vendors, and service providersDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues in complex mission critical environmentsPossess excellent organizational and planning skills and have the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlinesHave a strong personal initiative, ability to deliver high-quality results, and desire for continuous improvementDemonstrated ability to work independently or as a team when necessaryCoach and mentor other employees within the teamExperience managing Active DirectoryExperience with converged and hyper converged technologies such as Cisco Flexpod and NutanixExperience with virtualization technologies such as VMWareExperience with storage technologies such as NetAppPrevious experience with mission critical systemsPrevious experience in the pipeline industryPrevious experience with Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) and/or NutanixScripting knowledge (PowerShell, VBScript etc.)This position requires candidates to:This position will require the candidate to provide 24-hour support on a rotational on-call scheduleHave and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for reviewTo remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-HybridAbout our businessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
