Special Education Teacher – Mild/Moderate
Location: Mission Viejo, CA
Contract: ProCare Therapy
Assignment Dates: ASAP – June 10, 2027
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week
Hours: 8 hours/day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Caseload: Elementary Mild/Moderate, Grades K–3
Pay: 45 - 50 hourly, based on experience
Position Overview
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher for a contract position at Linda Vista Elementary in Mission Viejo, California. This opportunity is ideal for an educator who is passionate about supporting elementary students with mild to moderate learning needs and helping them achieve their academic and developmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in grades K–3.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in accordance with student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school staff.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable special education requirements.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Active California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) licensure is required.
- Must hold a Mild to Moderate Support Needs credential/authorization.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
