Compensation & Benefits Starting Salary Range for Physician: Pay commensurate with experience. Full‑time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and other benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with OSHA, Privacy Act, DoD, and USMEPCOM standards. Conduct thorough medical record reviews, histories, and physical examinations per Department of Defense standards; evaluate lab results, ensure accurate profiling, and coordinate with consultants and Service waiver authorities. Evaluate diagnostic test results to identify potential disqualifying conditions. Perform comprehensive in‑person medical histories for applicants who have completed the prescreening process and received authorization to proceed. Assess applicants for injuries, deformities, defects, and disorders across all body systems, including dental, psychiatric, and behavioral, and conduct a standardized orthopedic‑neurological exam. Determine the need for further physical examination of identified problem areas. Directly inform applicants of abnormal findings through personal consultation or written communication. Convey updates to medical staff for entry into the USMEPCOM‑specific applicant database. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; must provide documentation to qualify. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, based on a completed background investigation. Position designated as non‑sensitive and requires a personnel security investigation. Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification certified by the American Heart Association. Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion. Must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate clinical privileges. One‑year supervisory probationary period may be required. Successful completion of Military Health System GENESIS Training is required to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of onboarding. Occasional shift work (before 0600 or after 1800 hours) may be required, including Saturdays. To qualify, meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid, unpaid, and volunteer work. Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a U.S. or Canadian accredited school, or foreign equivalent with recognized certification. Active, full, and unrestricted state license or registration as a Physician from the U.S., District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. At least one year of supervised experience in a clinical setting, such as an internship or residency, after graduation. Three years of graduate training in the specialty of the position or equivalent experience and training. Foreign education must be evaluated by a reputable organization and deemed equivalent to U.S. accredited programs. Must pass the pre‑employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal. Eligibility Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. A pre‑employment security investigation is required. Successful candidates will also need to pass the pre‑employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
