What You’ll Do

• Function as a trauma hospitalist rounding on adult and adolescent patients with a Level I trauma designation
• Respond to trauma alerts and facilitate patient discharges
• Manage admits from the ED and daily patient rounding
• Perform procedures including chest tube insertion, central and arterial line placement, suturing minor lacerations, and ventilator management
• Collaborate with trauma surgeons and multidisciplinary team members
• Document patient conditions accurately in electronic medical records (EMR: EPI)
• Provide coverage for trauma activations and intermittent ED consults

What You Need

• Valid licensing and certifications (discussed upon application)
• Experience with trauma management and critical care procedures
• Ability to respond autonomously to trauma alerts and manage complex patient cases
• Strong documentation and communication skills

About the Assignment
This assignment is at a Level I adult trauma center caring for patients aged 0-100+, primarily adult and adolescent populations. The facility staffs trauma surgeons 24/7, ensuring comprehensive support for APPs. The role involves both clinical responsibilities and ensuring adherence to established trauma protocols.
