Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric PACU position requiring 2 years of PACU experience, charge experience, and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Outpatient surgery center setting within the PACU unit
• Adolescent and adult patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Rotating 8-hour day shifts, potentially including 6:00 a.m.2:30 p.m., 7:30 a.m.4:00 p.m., or 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m.
• Hours may extend beyond the scheduled shift based on patient census and operational needs
• Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Pre-Op and PACU experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Travel experience required
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role and the second from a charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provides Phase I and Phase II PACU care including pre/post-operative patient management
• Scrubs are provided
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract, including travel to a fingerprinting location if within driving distance or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet if at extreme distances
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
