Machinist

Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Machinist to join their team. As a Machinist, you will be part of the production department supporting pump repair operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Machinist

Location: Norfolk, VA

Pay Range: $19/hr

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6AM-2:30PM

What's the Job?

Manufacture and repair pump components according to instructions and drawings
Operate all machine shop equipment including VTLs, Horizontal Boring Machines, and Lathes
Perform incoming and outgoing inspections, ensuring quality standards are met
Set up and maintain machines for pump fabrication, ensuring smooth operation
Analyze design drawings and work orders to ensure precision and accuracy

What's Needed?

Minimum of 5+ years of manual machining experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Proficiency in operating manual machine tools such as lathes and milling machines
Knowledge of precision measuring instruments like Vernier Calipers and Micrometers
Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving skills
