Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bronx, NY, serving the NYC metropolitan area as a Commercial Gate & Door Field Technician. In this role, you will install, service, and repair commercial garage doors, security gates, and related hardware at client locations. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all systems operate safely and in compliance with company standards. You will interact with customers on-site to explain work performed, provide basic operating guidance, and document service activities. The position also involves traveling between job sites, maintaining tools and equipment, following safety procedures, and collaborating with team members and supervisors to complete work orders efficiently. Qualifications Hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial garage doors, gates, or similar mechanical systems. Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including use of hand and power tools, meters, and related equipment. Ability to read and follow work orders, diagrams, and technical instructions with strong attention to detail and safety. Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and team members on-site. Capacity to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites in the NYC metropolitan area. Previous field service or construction experience is highly beneficial; experience with commercial properties is a plus.
