Senior Accountant

Role Description We are seeking a senior accountant to join our team for a temporary project, with the potential to move to a longer-term arrangement. We are an entrepreneurial, growing company and need additional accounting support to ensure we complete timely and accurate financial closes. We anticipate this project requiring 20 hours a week for approximately 3 months. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, combined with a passion for following processes and leveraging technology to improve efficiency. Responsibilities Execute general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, period end close, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial reporting. Conduct variance analyses for income statement and balance sheet accounts, identifying trends and insights for leadership. Prepare schedules and supporting data for annual/periodic financial statements, tax and compliance filings in coordination with outside accounting and tax advisers Lead or contribute to special projects, analyses, and ad hoc reporting requests. Support AP as preparer or reviewer of the weekly AP run as needed. Support AR invoicing and payment application as needed. Assist purchasing and logistics in Vendor set up and preparing Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, Item Receipts/Fulfilments, and Customer Quotes as needed. Interpret and apply GAAP accounting standards in collaboration with the Controller, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or auditing. Proven expertise in general ledger operations and financial reporting including account reconciliations, preparation of supporting schedules, and completing the monthly closing process. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, etc). Ability to prepare and analyze complex financial statements. Ability to work independently and multi-task. Preferred Experience CPA or CPA candidate. Experience with NetSuite, Bill.com. Experience with Lease accounting, Contract manufacturing, Ecommerce. Experience at a Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firm. Experience with start-ups or working in a start-up environment. Compensation $45-$55 hourly. #J-18808-Ljbffr Socket.dev
