Job Title: Construction Trailer Office Refurbishment Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on refurbishing and customizing office trailers used on construction sites. You will repair, remodel, and upgrade returned trailers to meet new client specifications, performing a variety of construction, maintenance, and finishing tasks using hand and power tools while working from drawings and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Refurbish and customize office trailers according to new client requirements, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.

• Perform drywall repairs, including hanging, patching, taping, and finishing surfaces for a clean, professional appearance.

• Carry out interior painting of walls, ceilings, doors, and trim, ensuring even coverage and proper surface preparation.

• Install, repair, or replace faucets, toilets, and other basic plumbing fixtures within trailer offices.

• Perform light HVAC work, including basic maintenance, filter changes, and minor repairs as needed.

• Execute carpentry tasks such as framing, finish carpentry, cabinet building, and general structural repairs inside the trailers.

• Remove and replace flooring materials, including carpet and other finishes, ensuring proper fit and secure installation.

• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, assembling, and finishing materials.

• Read and interpret drawings and work instructions to complete trailer refurbishments accurately and efficiently.

• Handle basic electrical and lighting tasks within scope of experience, such as fixture replacement and minor repairs.

• Perform general building and facilities maintenance tasks related to trailer refurbishment and upkeep.

• Conduct welding and mechanical repairs when required and within skill level to support trailer modifications.

• Troubleshoot issues in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural components and propose effective solutions.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area inside and around trailers, including overall cleaning of finished units.

• Inspect completed work to ensure trailers are ready for delivery and meet client specifications.

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a solid work ethic, completing tasks on time and with minimal rework.

• Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while working in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of construction experience, including work with framing, plumbing, or electrical systems.

• Proficiency in carpentry, including framing, finish carpentry, and cabinet building.

• Hands-on experience with plumbing repairs, including installation and replacement of fixtures such as faucets and toilets.

• Ability to perform drywall installation and repair, including patching, taping, and finishing.

• Experience with interior painting and surface preparation.

• Basic HVAC experience, including light maintenance and minor repairs.

• Ability to read and work from drawings and work instructions.

• Strong facility and building maintenance background, particularly in a construction or trailer environment.

• Skilled use of hand tools and power tools in a construction or maintenance setting.

• Mechanical aptitude for assembly, troubleshooting, and general repairs.

• Experience with lighting maintenance and minor electrical work within scope of role.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong work ethic.

• Ability to work safely and effectively in a non-climate-controlled facility and in trailer environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in welding for minor structural or repair work.

• Experience in field service or on-site construction support.

• Previous experience in facility maintenance or building maintenance roles.

• Experience with assembly work related to construction or modular structures.

• Comfort working with tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure accurate cuts and installations.

• Ability to handle multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, drywall, painting, HVAC) in a single project environment.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in a non-climate-controlled facility and within office trailers that serve as on-site construction offices. Most work areas are under cover and out of direct sun, but temperatures may vary with the weather. The role involves frequent use of hand tools and power tools, as well as working in and around trailers, steps, and tight spaces. You will be on your feet for much of the day, moving materials, working inside trailer interiors, and performing a variety of construction and maintenance tasks in a practical, hands-on setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
