The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Full-time Location: Hybrid, Arlington, TX Mission: This person provides financial and administrative support for departmental operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, budget adherence, and compliance with university policies. Tech Stack: PeopleSoft, MS Excel, Mav eShop What You’ll Actually Do Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, department cost centers, and ProCard transactions, investigating and resolving discrepancies while maintaining accurate supporting documentation. Budget Monitoring: Assist with monitoring departmental budgets and maintaining detailed financial spreadsheets to ensure accurate tracking of funds and expenditures. Purchasing Coordination: Prepare and submit purchase requests, including Mav eShop carts, requisitions, purchase orders, quotes, and service contracts, in accordance with university policies. Advisory Support: Interpret and explain university purchasing rules and regulations, advising department staff on proper purchasing methods and allowable expenditures. Financial Entries: Prepare, enter, and track budget corrections, transfers, and journal entries to ensure proper accounting and reporting. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. Career level: Entry-Level. Experience: Two (2) years of experience preparing detailed reconciliations, and experience using PeopleSoft and MS Excel.
