Senior Marketing Manager (Greater Chicago Area)

We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Senior Marketing Manager to lead customer acquisition, retention, lifecycle marketing, and digital growth initiatives across a growing portfolio of brands and collections.

This role will own performance marketing strategy across paid media, email, SMS, affiliate, and Amazon channels while serving as the primary business owner for marketing analytics, customer insights, and agency management.

As the company enters a significant growth phase, including new capsule collections and category expansion, this individual will play a critical role in developing scalable customer acquisition and retention strategies that drive profitable growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with strategic thinking and leadership potential. This person will begin as an individual contributor managing agency partners and cross-functional initiatives while helping build the future Performance Marketing function.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Marketing Strategy

• Develop and execute customer acquisition and retention strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
• Identify opportunities to increase customer acquisition, improve conversion, and drive customer lifetime value.
• Evaluate emerging marketing channels, technologies, and growth opportunities.
• Provide recommendations on channel investments, testing strategies, and growth initiatives.

Paid Media Leadership

• Oversee paid media performance across Meta, Google, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, affiliate, and emerging channels.
• Manage external paid media agency relationships.
• Establish performance goals, KPIs, and accountability measures for agency partners.
• Review campaign performance and identify opportunities for optimization and scale.
• Partner with Brand Marketing and Creative teams to improve creative effectiveness and campaign results.

CRM, Email & SMS Marketing

• Lead email and SMS strategy through internal and agency partners.
• Develop customer lifecycle programs including welcome, abandonment, retention, loyalty, VIP, and win-back initiatives.
• Improve segmentation, personalization, and automation strategies.
• Drive repeat purchase behavior, customer engagement, and retention performance.

Amazon Marketplace & Growth

• Manage Amazon marketing and marketplace agency relationships.
• Monitor Amazon advertising performance, marketplace growth, and profitability.
• Identify opportunities to improve visibility, conversion, and revenue growth.
• Partner with Ecommerce leadership to support marketplace expansion initiatives.

Analytics & Customer Insights

• Develop reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance scorecards.
• Analyze customer behavior, attribution, channel performance, and marketing effectiveness.
• Translate data into actionable recommendations and growth opportunities.
• Present performance insights and business recommendations to leadership.
• Partner with Ecommerce and Brand Marketing teams to inform strategy and decision-making.

Agency Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for paid media, retention marketing, affiliate, and Amazon agency partners.
• Establish priorities, performance expectations, and accountability measures.
• Lead weekly and monthly business reviews with agency partners.
• Evaluate agency recommendations and ensure alignment with company objectives.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner closely with the Brand Marketing Manager to support campaign launches and growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with Ecommerce on conversion optimization, customer experience, and site performance.
• Partner with Creative and Content teams to identify high-performing messaging and creative opportunities.
• Support annual planning, forecasting, and business growth initiatives.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

• Build the foundation for a future Performance Marketing team.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and development of future CRM and analytics resources.
• Develop scalable reporting, processes, and operating rhythms that support growth.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, digital marketing, or ecommerce marketing.
• Proven success managing multi-channel acquisition and retention programs.
• Deep experience with Meta Ads, Google Ads, email marketing, SMS marketing, and customer lifecycle strategies.
• Experience managing external agencies and driving accountability to business outcomes.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Experience with Google Analytics, attribution platforms, and ecommerce reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
