Details Work in a high-acuity Surgical ICU (SICU) that also serves as a Transplant ICU 1:2 patient ratio Day shift, 3x12 hours (6:45–19:15), with manager able to accommodate 3x12 or 4x12 schedules Float required to other ICUs and step-down units (SDUs) Epic EMR experience required No call-in requirement for this unit Care includes general post-op surgical recovery as well as transplant recovery for liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas patients CVICU-related duties include caring for post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA catheter patients Requirements Active RN license (LA state license or Compact) required in hand at time of submission Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required) Minimum 2 years of specialty ICU experience required Required hands-on experience with transplant patients (liver, heart, lung, kidney, or pancreas) Experience with Post Cardiac Surgery care directly from the OR required Prior travel nursing experience required Preferred experience with PA catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps Preferred experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT/CVVHD) Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission) Additional Information Provide comprehensive post-operative and transplant recovery care for a complex surgical ICU patient population Orientation is held five days per week Facility does not accept local candidates; must reside 65 miles from the facility (measured from driver's license address to site address) RTO must be documented on profile and discussed during the interview to avoid offer rescission No block scheduling requests will be accommodated Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated from the health system for at least one full year before returning as a travel RN Charge RN references are not accepted; two Manager/Supervisor references will be required to obtain clearance to start American Traveler Job ID P-746427.
