Salary is based on education and experience. This position is NOT a remote position. This is an on-site position located on the COA Elizabeth City Campus. The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, integration, and optimization of the College's Learning Management System (LMS) and related instructional technologies. The position provides enterprise-level systems administration, technical analysis, and user support to ensure the LMS supports effective teaching, learning, regulatory compliance, and institutional operations. The LMS Administrator collaborates with Information Technology, Academic Affairs, Continuing Education, and other College departments to support system functionality, enterprise integrations, instructional technologies, accessibility compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The LMS Administrator receives general supervision from the Director of Distance Education. Examples of Duties Learning Management System Administration (40%)

Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office environment with frequent computer use. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support system maintenance, upgrades, training, or emergency troubleshooting.

Requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer use; frequent operation of computers and standard office equipment; occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds; and the ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.

- Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize the College's LMS and related instructional technology systems.
- Manage system settings, user permissions, course lifecycle processes, software updates, and system maintenance.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex LMS issues to ensure reliable operation.
- Analyze business and technical requirements related to LMS operations and instructional technology.
- Configure, test, and maintain integrations between the LMS, Ellucian Colleague, authentication systems, and third-party applications.
- Collaborate with Information Technology to support system architecture, data integrations, APIs, software enhancements, and security.
- Provide advanced technical support and consultation to faculty, staff, and students regarding LMS functionality and instructional technologies.
- Develop and deliver training and resources supporting effective LMS use, accessibility, and online instruction.
- Develop reports and analyze LMS data to support institutional planning and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, accreditation, accessibility, and College requirements.
- Participate in committees, technology initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience administering enterprise learning management systems or comparable enterprise software.
- Experience supporting instructional technologies and providing technical support in a higher education or similar environment.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience integrating LMS platforms with Ellucian Colleague or other enterprise systems.
- Experience with APIs, LTI tools, authentication technologies, and educational technology.
