About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 1845-0715. 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available. Contract lengths from 13 to 26 weeks. Every other weekend required. Holiday coverage required. Patient ratio 1:6. Call and float requirements as needed.

Highlights:

• Med/Surg unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 43
• Experience with heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, high flow oxygen, and occasional BiPAP support
• EPIC charting system with PYXIS medication management
• 24-hour orientation period to support your transition to the unit
• Charge nurse experience preferred for night shift positions
• First-time travelers welcome with appropriate experience

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• BLS certification required
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Ability to float to similar units and alternate care locations
• Willingness to work call as needed and participate in storm/hurricane team response during catastrophic events
• Attendance at monthly unit team meetings required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
