About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Both 36-hour and 48-hour weekly contracts accepted. Contract lengths range from 13 to 26 weeks. Every other weekend required. Must be available for holidays. Patient ratio 1:6.

Highlights:

• Adult and geriatric medical/surgical patient population with daily census of approximately 43 patients
• Experience with heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, high flow oxygen, and occasional BiPap support
• Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management
• 24 hours of paid orientation to ensure successful integration
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed; call coverage required as needed
• First-time travelers welcome with appropriate experience

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience
• CPI certification preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred for night shift positions
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability to work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team assignment
• Attendance at mandatory monthly unit team meetings
