Work Environment

This full-time role requires you to work onsite at our hospital, engaging directly with patients and healthcare teams in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Your work schedule will typically run from Monday to Friday, with shifts commencing at 5:00 PM, allowing flexibility and a work-life balance while serving patients in need of immediate care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient examinations, ensuring detailed medical history intake and assessment.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as blood analyses and X-rays to reach accurate diagnoses.
• Diagnose and manage a variety of acute health conditions, developing immediate and long-term treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications, ensuring thorough patient education on usage and potential side effects.
• Document all patient interactions meticulously, maintaining organized patient records to facilitate continuity of care.
• Engage with patients and their families, providing education on health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
• Work collaboratively with physicians and medical staff to improve patient care outcomes and operational efficiency.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and keep abreast of advancements in clinical practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Urgent Care department serves a diverse range of patients, from children to seniors, seeking immediate attention for acute illnesses and injuries. You will encounter various patient cases, providing you with the opportunity to enhance your clinical skills and tackle unique challenges in patient care, thus contributing significantly to positive health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A valid State Physician Assistant license (PA-C) and an active DEA number are required.
• A completed Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.

Compensation and Benefits
