Work Environment

The work setting is fully onsite, providing you with a collaborative environment where you directly engage with patients and healthcare professionals. Your schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments of patients' physical and mental health, utilizing comprehensive physical exams and gathering pertinent medical histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, to identify patient conditions and inform treatment options.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment protocols, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored, outcomes-based treatment plans, continuously monitoring and adjusting based on patient response.
• Offer education and counseling to patients and their families regarding medical processes, health management strategies, and dietary recommendations.
• Record and maintain accurate documentation of treatment plans, outcomes, and patient progress in compliance with hospital protocols.
• Engage in consultation services related to your specialty, addressing complex cases in various healthcare settings, including inpatient care and emergency services.
• Perform necessary invasive procedures as permitted by your qualifications and in alignment with the supervising physician’s guidance.
• Be proactive in addressing patient needs beyond your typical duties as required, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse population of patients with cardiovascular conditions, ranging from preventive cardiology to complex cardiac interventions. This exposure will enhance your clinical skills and allow you to advocate for patients' health effectively. You will also collaborate with referring physicians and specialists to ensure integrated care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Physician Assistant accredited program.
• A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies preferred.
• Valid Physician Assistant certification and state licensure are mandatory.
• A minimum of 1 year of demonstrated clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Strong critical thinking, effective communication, and decision-making skills are essential.
• Ability to engage in active listening and demonstrate empathy in patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in cardiology or a related specialty is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems enhances workflow efficiency.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) must be acquired within the first 30 days of employment.

Compensation and Benefits
