Festival Exterior Operations Lead: Build, Signage & Shuttles

Job Summary We’re looking for a highly motivated self‑starter who embodies a passion for dance culture and a love of the transportation and exterior realm. This role reports to the Director of Exterior Operations. Who Are We? Insomniac produces some of the world’s most innovative, immersive music festivals and events. With state‑of‑the‑art lighting, pyrotechnics, sound design, large‑scale art installations, theatrical performers and next‑generation special effects, we create captivating experiences for millions of fans worldwide. The Role Exterior Operations Crew positions will oversee construction, signage, shuttling, and heavy‑equipment operations for Insomniac festivals. Available Positions Exterior Operations Site Crew / Heavy Equipment Operator Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, stakebeds, water trucks, dump trucks, front‑end loaders, skid steers, etc. Forklift certification required. Earth‑moving equipment and/or CDL certifications and experience are a plus. Ext Ops Build Leads Experienced in festival builds or comparable environments. Direct crew, manage fence lines, inventory, and equipment maintenance. Signage Crew Hang signs around the festival perimeter to direct headliners. Manage signs from 3’×3’ zip‑tie installations to overhead truss and parking lot flags. Signage Leads Lead the signage crew with a strong understanding of patron flow and key points of interest. Shuttle Loader/Unloader Entry‑level role, load and unload headliners from buses during show days. No certifications required. Shuttle Leads Manage shuttle staff break times, check in bus drivers, ensure smooth operations, and troubleshoot issues. Qualifications Clean motor vehicle report. Valid driver’s license. 18 years of age or older. Ability to walk long distances for long periods and stand on feet. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Clean and presentable attire (black work clothing). Motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude. Active problem‑solver with a sense of urgency for projects large and small. Heavy equipment certification and OSHA certification. Work Environment Must tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments. May work in drastic temperature climates. Willing to travel to events during holidays, evenings, and weekends as required.
