NAPA has expanded and joined Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital! Help be a part of a collaborative team with a flexible schedule of 26 weeks on and 26 weeks off.

Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital is a 123-bed, not-for-profit acute-care hospital serving Newport News and the surrounding communities in the Virginia Peninsula and Hampton Roads area. It is the most comprehensive facility of its kind on the Virginia Peninsula. The hospital's mission emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care inspired by the healing ministry values of the larger Bon Secours system offering clinicians the chance to practice medicine within a values-driven community framework.

Diverse and challenging case mix includes Ortho, General, Endo, Urology - Cysto, L&D, Ophthalmology, GYN, Neuro, ENT, Urology, Thoracic, Radiology, Vascular, Plastics, Pain.

Shifts include 26 weeks on and 26 weeks off, with 13 weeks of call, 13 weeks of post-call coverage, 13 weeks as a day doc, and 13 weeks of PTO.

Responsibilities include assisting in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department, responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures, pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and/or verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring of the patient's physiological condition, and performance of clinical intervention as needed.

Requirements include an M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine, ECFMG and FLEX, completion of approved residency in anesthesia, and currently licensed as a physician.
