Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years strongly preferred License: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license Certifications: BLS, Clienttion Badge (provided by agency) Must-Have: Scrub Experience Description: Position involves working as an Operating Room Registered Nurse. Shift is 3x12 hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday. On-call is not required. Travelers may need to float within scope to meet facility needs and float between like units. Two years of experience in the operating room is strongly preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates must hold a valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license. BLS certification is required. A radiation badge will be provided by the agency. Experience with scrub procedures is strongly preferred. The main operating room is within a level-one academic trauma center. The facility features 21 OR suites covering all surgical specialties, including Trauma, Transplant, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics. The nursing team consists of 75% Registered Nurses and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists. Registered Nurses are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures. This is a busy and dynamic, nurse-driven, Magnet-designated department providing cutting-edge technology in the region. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Therefore, travelers should not confirm any new or extended assignments during the hurricane season, which runs from June through November, with peak activity in August and September.
