Project Engineer

Job Overview We are seeking a dependable Mechanical Controls Engineer to join our tight‑knit team. The role focuses on Post Boost Control System (PBCS) IPT within the Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) Line of Business, supporting the design and production of missile control systems. Responsibilities Assist Product Owners and Engineering Managers with day‑to‑day activities. Act as a trusted liaison aligning individual efforts with broader team objectives. Maintain and update product‑team timelines, flag risks and recommend corrective actions. Identify, track, and communicate dependencies between teams, proactively surface obstacles, and promote transparency. Participate in technical exchange meetings, working groups, and staff forums, capturing outcomes and follow‑up actions. Create, refresh, and organize documentation, data collections, and presentation decks ensuring metrics are current and accurately reported. Develop and maintain key performance indicators, generating regular status reports and dashboards for leadership review. Execute special assignments or ad‑hoc projects with a data‑driven analytical approach, solving complex problems and improving processes. Recommend enhancements to tools, workflows, and communication practices that increase efficiency and alignment across the program. Basic Qualifications Demonstrated experience with project management. Practical knowledge of project management tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. 3+ years of technical experience or background. Desired Skills Provide support to Product Owners and Engineering Managers under general supervision. Support schedules/timelines for product team execution. Coordinate inter‑team dependencies and drive transparency across product teams, anticipating obstacles to performance. Participate in working groups and technical exchange meetings. Support staff meetings, documentation, data collection or inputs for presentations, produce/update presentations, track/provide/maintain metrics, handle special assignments or ad‑hoc tasks. Apply critical thinking and initiative to help address tasks and requirements for the entire program in support of program goals. Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered. Clearance Level: Secret. Compensation Annual base salary range (California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC): $85,500 - $150,765. Salary determined based on final work location and a range of factors including scope and responsibilities.
