As part of HDR's Federal Business Group (FBG), you'll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, maintain, train, deploy, thrive, and engage in meaningful services for our Federal Government. From high-performance command and control facilities to education and training centers, your work will directly support design, construction support, resiliency, planning, asset management, program management and thought leadership directly engaged with a myriad of federal agencies. This isn't just a job, it's a chance to lead innovation, architecture and engineering impacts, and build a legacy of excellence.The Federal Business Group Technology Director will work as part of our Professional Services and Delivery leadership team, with the primary function of driving a strategic vision and leading a team of experts in the implementation of technology solutions across the multidisciplinary consulting practice. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Federal leadership across all 6 Business Groups, Corporate Technology, operational leadership, technology leaders from throughout the organization, vendors, and other stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and deploy technology initiatives that enhance project execution, efficiency, and innovation. This position reports to the Professional Services and Delivery Director, and success is measured by the development of effective technology solutions for consulting and project delivery, talent-oriented growth, fostering a technology-focused community of practice, shaping long-term strategic plans, leveraging technology as a market differentiator, and positioning HDR as an industry leader.Primary Responsibilities:Lead evaluation of emerging technologies relevant to Federal programsDrive technology innovation that supports Federal professional services deliveryRepresent the FBG in enterprise technology planningActive membership and participation in the HDR Technology Leadership Team (TLT)Develop and align technology visions and roadmaps for Federal Market Sectors and Delivery TeamsPartner with Corporate Technology to ensure Federal compliant platforms and investmentsStandardize workflows and delivery practices for Federal programsLead evaluation and adoption of shared technology solutions for Federal deliveryLead evaluation and adoption of emerging technology solutions such as AI/ML for Federal delivery across all Business GroupsLead FBG proposals for investment in technologyDefine technology capability requirements necessary to support Federal programsParticipate in technology governance with a Federal compliance lensEnable collaboration and knowledge sharing across all Business GroupsFoster Federal technology talent and workforce developmentPromote and communicate technology strategies to Federal stakeholders to inspire adoption and maximize business value (ROI)Support implementation of enterprise or shared solutions within Federal programsIntegrate innovation with Federal risk management and compliancePromote thought leadership in Federal technology domainsProvide cross sector, cross-Business Group technology expertise for major Federal pursuits and programsDevelop Federal aligned technology guidelines and validation processesLead FBG data stewardshipLead and participate in technology related committees and working groupsPreferred Qualifications:Experience supporting enterprise technology strategy for multidisciplinary engineering or professional services organizationsMinimum 10 years of demonstrated experience executing projects involving technological solutions within the AEC industry for Federal clientsKnowledge of Federal cybersecurity frameworks and requirements including NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, CMMC, and CUIExperience evaluating technology, and software development and deploymentDemonstrated understanding of a broad range of technologies and their applied delivery within the Federal sectorsExperience in numerical modeling, digital production, and data science, data architecture, data management, and well-versed in industry and federal standardsExperience in digital delivery, modeling, data architecture, data management, data sciences, use of AI/ML, BIM, cloud computing, automation and integration with production softwareDemonstrated ability to formulate and execute applied technology strategies, implementation plans, and foster lasting change within an organizationExcellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to find solutions that advance projects and initiativesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related fieldA minimum of 10 years of experience in related fieldExperienced in development and management of diverse teamsWorks cooperatively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class effortsCommitted to quality, improvement and HDR valuesAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe HDR is our company.
