Job Title: Legal Assistant / Paralegal
Personal Injury, Criminal Law, Real Estate, Family Law
Location: Manning, SC
Compensation: $45,000 starting salary (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support attorneys in a busy law firm handling multiple practice areas including Personal Injury, Criminal Law, Real Estate, Estate Planning & Probate, Family Law, and Business Law. This position is ideal for candidates with a Paralegal Certificate, legal administrative experience, or recent legal studies graduates looking to grow in a law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with case management, legal research, and document preparation
- Draft, format, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence
- Maintain and organize case files, client records, and discovery materials
- Communicate with clients, courts, insurance companies, and opposing counsel
- Schedule appointments, hearings, and manage attorney calendars
- Support litigation, transactional, and administrative legal tasks
Required Qualifications:
- Paralegal Certificate OR legal assistant/administrative legal experience
- Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: Personal Injury, Criminal Law, Real Estate, Estate Planning & Probate, Family Law, Business Law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook
