Job Summary The Respiratory Equipment Technician assists licensed Respiratory Therapists with indirect patient care, equipment management, and support services within the respiratory department. Responsibilities Assist respiratory therapists with daily patient care needs. Collect, clean, and reset respiratory equipment for use. Ensure all equipment is ready and the supply room is organized and stocked. Follow and enforce safety rules related to respiratory equipment. Collect test specimens for respiratory therapists when required. Assist during respiratory procedures as needed. Communicate effectively with team members and maintain confidentiality. Support other team members and uphold care team objectives. Qualifications Associate degree or current enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program, to be completed within two (2) years. Ability to speak and write English. BLS certification from the American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire. New Jersey Respiratory Care License required within 27 months of hire. Knowledge of medical terminology. Interpersonal skills, flexibility, prioritization, problem‑solving, and sound judgment. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred; training provided within 30‑60 days of hire. Work Environment Potential exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and infectious diseases.
