What You Will Do:

\n

Join our RF/Microwave Engineering team at Raytheon and contribute to mission-critical technologies that protect domestic and international allies. In this role, you will help design, develop, test, and manufacture cutting-edge compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter -wave integrated circuits (MMICs), phased array hardware, and high-performance modules for advanced defense applications. You will support premier radar and sensing programs—such as Global Patriot Solutions and Early Warning Systems—collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams across all stages of integration and hardware verification.

Key Responsibilities: 

\n

\n
• Perform fixtured and on-wafer probe measurements, characterization, and assembly of RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave test setups. 
\n

\n

\n
• Design, simulate, and analyze RF/microwave components, MMICs, and phased array module hardware. 
\n

\n

\n
• Execute component-level and system-level integration and testing for digital, analog, and RF assemblies. 
\n

\n

\n
• Utilize automated test instrumentation and software (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW) to control measurement systems, capture data, and evaluate test results. 
\n

\n

\n
• Characterize devices using advanced laboratory equipment, including Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), and Performance Network Analyzers (PNAs). 
\n

\n

\n
• Conduct circuit simulations, obsolescence trade assessments, hardware troubleshooting, and failure investigations to resolve performance issues. 
\n

\n

\n
• Partner with systems, quality assurance, reliability, and manufacturing personnel to develop robust test solutions and optimize production workflows. 
\n

\n
\n

What You Will Learn:

• RF/Microwave device, MMIC, and module characterization techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)  
\n

\n

• Test system set-up  
\n

\n

\n
• Software such as Python, Labview, Keysight ADS, HFSS, Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Expedition, AutoCAD, TCAD, C++, Java, JMP  
\n

\n

• Data analysis techniques 
\n

\n
\n

Qualifications You Must Have: 

\n

\n
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Degree must be obtained by start date. 
\n

\n

\n
• Coursework in one or more of the following: RF Circuit Design, Microwave Circuits, Electromagnetics, Antenna Engineering, Microwave Measurements, RF Engineering, Radar Signal Processing, or Radar Design. 
\n

\n

\n
• Experience in at least one of the following technical domains: 
\n

\n

- RF/Microwave Design & Measurement: Designing, fabricating, or bench-testing RF/microwave circuits or components (e.g., amplifiers, filters, mixers, couplers), including S-parameter or microwave measurements using network/spectrum analyzers. 

\n

- Antennas & Applied Electromagnetics: Modeling, simulating, or testing antennas or electromagnetic structures using computational tools (e.g., HFSS, CST Studio, ADS, FEKO) or anechoic chamber measurements. 

\n

- Radar Architecture & Signal Processing: Modeling or implementing radar signal processing algorithms (e.g., pulse compression, Doppler processing, beamforming, CFAR, waveform design) using simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Python) or embedded hardware. 

\n

\n
• Experience building, testing, or characterizing electronic hardware, RF circuits, or antenna systems using standard test benches or measurement facilities. 
\n

\n

\n
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects. 
\n

\n
\n

Qualifications We Prefer:

\n

\n
• Hands-on laboratory experience specific to RF/microwave device or circuit characterization using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and automated test environments.
\n

\n

\n
• Proficiency with RF/electromagnetic design and analysis software such as Keysight ADS, ANSYS HFSS, CST Studio Suite, Microwave Office, Cadence Virtuoso, or MATLAB.
\n

\n

\n
• Experience scripting and automating laboratory test equipment using Python, C++, or LabVIEW.
\n

\n

\n
• Demonstrated leadership experience through student organizations, research projects, or engineering team initiatives.
\n

\n

\n
• Strong collaborative, interpersonal, and technical communication skills working in multi-disciplinary engineering settings.

\n

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.\n
