Compensation Status: Hourly

Employment Status: Full Time (40 hours per week)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Fabrication and structural welding of water treatment machinery components.
  2. Seal welds for large steel tanks used in water treatment.
  3. Pre weld prep of subcomponents and post weld prep for paint. This will include removal of sharp edges, burrs, weld spatter and slag by means of grinding, chiseling, etc.
  4. Must be proficient in MIG and TIG welding of carbon and stainless steels.
  5. Some non-structural welding of carbon and stainless steel.
  6. Pipe welding.
  7. Polypropylene welding and plate repair.
  8. Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
  9. Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
  10. Building fixtures and jigs.
  11. Quality control using fillet gauges and other equipment.
  12. Operation of saws, drills, etc.
  13. Operation of forklifts and overhead cranes.
  14. Clean and maintain work area.
  15. Promote and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensional stack ups.
  2. Understanding of required welding gasses and wires.
  3. 5+ years of experience in structural welding of steel components.
  4. 5+ years of experience in seal welding of steel tanks.
  5. 5+ years of experience with MIG and TIG welding techniques.
  6. Weld certifications are preferred for all above requirements.
  7. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  8. Ability to read and understand shop drawings and specifications.
  9. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety toe shoes/boots, and hardhats.

REMOTE WORK

This position cannot be done remotely. It requires working hands-on in the factory.
