For more information on the DSS, please visit Job Summary The Department of Social Services strives to make a significant impact in the lives of the citizens of South Dakota. The Division of Child Support is looking for a dependable and highly organized individual who is a pro‑active self‑starter, customer service driven, sensitive to deadlines and attentive to detail. In this position, the desired candidate will be able to develop professional skills while working with a highly skilled team in a supportive team environment. Duties Include Process SD Warrants. Process Cash Payments. Verify Direct Deposit and Way2Go updates. Review payment logs to ensure the payments are correctly identified and split before the logs are verified. Allocate payments in a timely manner to ensure federal distribution time frames are met. Review the cancelled and stale dated warrant list each month. Research misapplied payments for the purposes to establish accurate payment distribution. Complete ledger adjustments requested by Child Support Specialist's. Knowledge Of Basic accounting principles and practices. Federal Distribution Guidelines. Mainframe and access databases. Operating a calculator and applicable accounting software. Ability To Complete tasks accurately and within federal guidelines. Communicate both orally and in writing. Use a calculator and computer and learn applicable accounting software. Prioritize and complete work by established deadlines. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Maintain confidentiality. Assist with the Automatic Withdrawal program. Update Doc IDs. Assist with the EPC reliacard program. Equally important will be a strong work ethic and the comprehension of critical thinking and problem‑solving techniques.
