Position Summary:

Oversees, coordinates, and maintains facilities and grounds for all Agfinity retail sites, partnering with Retail Managers on facility, maintenance, and grounds needs. As Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and appearance of our store facilities and grounds, including routine landscape upkeep. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to creating a safe, well-maintained, and visually appealing environment for our customers and staff. As Technician you should be capable of performing repairs and periodic services to equipment in the following categories: minor electrical, fuel dispenser repair, plumbing, landscaping and grounds maintenance, general mechanical, and the maintenance and cleaning of property.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct regular inspections of store facilities to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
• Partners with all Retail Managers regarding facility, maintenance, and grounds needs.
• Inspects equipment and facilities; diagnoses and coordinates the preventative maintenance and repair of facilities and other leased equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from store managers and address any issues efficiently.
• Daily utilization of retail facilities planner app on phone and on computer.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.
• Conduct regular inventory checks of maintenance supplies and equipment and reorder as necessary.
• To included, but not limited to, the following:
  1. Diagnose, repair and clean fuel pumps and associated equipment.
  2. Diagnose and repair plumbing systems, i.e. toilets, faucets, exposed lines and filters.
  3. Repair other store fixtures as required.
  4. Painting of parking lots and pump areas.
  5. Cleaning and repair of parking lots.
  6. Lawn care and maintenance of shrubbery and weed prevention.
  7. Mow, trim, and edge lawns and grounds at assigned store locations on a scheduled basis.
  8. Apply fertilization, weed control, and pest control treatments to maintain healthy turf and landscape beds.
  9. Prune and trim shrubs, trees, and other plantings, and maintain overall landscape appearance, including mulching, weeding, debris removal, and seasonal cleanup.
  10. Safely operate powered landscaping equipment, including mowers, string trimmers, edgers, and blowers, in accordance with manufacturer and safety guidelines.
  11. Transport landscaping equipment between store locations using a company-owned trailer, including safely loading, securing, towing, and unloading equipment.
  12. Preventative maintenance and filter change of HVAC systems.
• Perform service functions. Diagnose the root cause of equipment problems to prevent further reoccurrence.
• Always represent the Retail division and maintenance department professionally.
• Perform service function thoroughly and completely to minimize repeat calls. Respond to after normal hours and weekend emergency service calls.

Other Duties:

• Assist in the setup and installation of new equipment and fixtures.
• Train store staff in basic maintenance tasks and safety procedures.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring, breakers, outlets, and lighting.
• Assists other departments as needed and maintains availability for emergency situations.
• Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle while towing a company-owned trailer loaded with landscaping equipment.

Experience:

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a facility maintenance field required
• Prior light mechanical experience preferred.
• Prior experience operating powered landscaping or groundskeeping equipment preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Proven experience as a Facilities & Maintenance Technician, preferably in a retail or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance systems.
• Knowledge of tools, supplies, and parts in a retail/industrial setting.
• Knowledge of landscape and turf care practices, including mowing, trimming, fertilization, and weed/pest control.
• Knowledge of the safe operation and routine upkeep of powered landscaping equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
• Ability to safely operate powered landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers.
• Ability to safely load, secure, tow, and unload a company-owned trailer to transport equipment between locations.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to interpret policies and procedures accurately
• Ability to educate others on facility related issues

Physical Demands/Additional information:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach above shoulders; use foot/feet to operate equipment; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position also requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing landscape maintenance duties, and to safely operate powered landscaping equipment and tow a loaded trailer between locations.
