About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Nursing License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong ventilator experience required. Willingness to take additional patients if needed. Ability to float between departments, units, and facilities as required. Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in a progressive care unit. Ratios are typically 1:4 but may flex to 1:6 on rare occasions. Experience in caring for ventilated patients is essential. Responsibilities include management of ventilators, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula. Nurses will interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac drips without titration. Care will also involve hemodialysis management, renal failure, and feeding tube care. Expectations include working weekends with 8 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. Professional knowledge in isolation precautions and emergency response is required. The role may involve care for high acuity patients with pulmonary conditions. Nurses will be prepared to handle patient diagnoses such as COPD and tracheostomy care. A commitment to patient safety and efficient care delivery is crucial.
