Accounting Specialist
Location: Phoenix, AZ Department: Accounting Status: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | Non-Exempt
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting team. This position is responsible for supporting Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, account reconciliations, month-end activities, and other general accounting functions. The Accounting Specialist reports directly to the Controller and plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial records and efficient accounting operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Accounts Receivable with posting cash receipts.
- Assist Accounts Payable with posting invoices and freight claims.
- Reconcile credit card transactions and statements.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Support collections of customer payments and deposits.
- Communicate with Pricing, Brand, and Marketing teams regarding customer pricing and promotional discrepancies.
- Assist with accounting projects and other duties as assigned.
- Communicate opportunities, concerns, and process improvements to accounting management.
- Collaborate effectively with Accounting, Sales, and Operations teams to support business objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Positive, proactive, and team-oriented attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, processes, and correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
