WELDER BRAZER - HVAC

Copper Brazing | HVAC Assembly | Blueprint Reading

Location: Murfreesboro, TN
Pay Rate: $23.93 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hours: Four 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Contract with potential for direct hire
Interview Process: Phone screen followed by an on-site copper-to-copper brazing test

Position Overview

Our client is seeking seven Welder Brazers to assemble and prepare specialized Pre-Conditioned Air systems used to support aircraft equipment while on the ground.

This hands-on manufacturing position combines HVAC assembly, copper brazing, plumbing, mechanical assembly, and basic electrical work. The ideal candidate can read blueprints, has previous brazing experience, and is comfortable using hand tools and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble piping, mechanical parts, and electrical components for Pre-Conditioned Air systems.
• Follow engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and established procedures.
• Perform copper-to-copper brazing and plumbing work for HVAC systems and related assemblies.
• Measure, fit, connect, and assemble copper piping and mechanical components.
• Set up and perform testing of completed Pre-Conditioned Air units.
• Troubleshoot assembly, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC-related issues.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality.
• Correct assembly or brazing issues according to blueprints, schematics, and procedures.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measurement devices, and test equipment safely.
• Maintain accurate production documentation.
• Complete work-order entries using ProPlanner or similar production-tracking systems.
• Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
• Support process-improvement activities.
• Assist with training new team members when needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Required Qualifications

• At least six months of relevant manufacturing, brazing, HVAC, plumbing, welding, mechanical assembly, or related experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous brazing experience.
• Ability to pass an on-site copper-to-copper brazing test.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Experience using basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Familiarity with basic workplace safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.
• Willingness to complete company-provided brazing certification training if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC certification.
• Experience assembling or servicing HVAC systems.
• Previous copper-pipe brazing experience.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience using ProPlanner or another production-tracking system.
• Associate degree in mechanics, electromechanics, or a related field.
• Forklift or overhead-crane certification, or the ability to obtain certification if required.

2. An on-site practical test involving copper-to-copper brazing.
