This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar's Welder I position is an important part of Trystar's plan to become the world's foremost custom solution provider.Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Welder II will be responsible for performing TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless-steel components. We show up for each other and we know that through teamwork we achieve greatness.Champion change – We know adaptation and improvement are requirements to survive and to thrive.Enjoy the journey – We create an environment where our team feels appreciated and has fun along the way.In this role you will get to:TIG/MIG Welding: Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless-steel materials utilizing precise heat control and filler metal to create strong and aesthetically appealing welds.Weld Preparation: Clean and prepare aluminum surfaces for welding, removing any contaminants or impurities that could affect the quality of the weld.Material Inspection: Examine and verify the integrity of aluminum, mild steel, or stainless-steel materials to ensure they meet the required quality standards before welding.Welding Parameters: Set up and adjust welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate TIG welding torch, gas flow, and amperage, based on the thickness and type of materials being welded.Weld Quality Control: Inspect finished welds for defects and discontinuities, using visual inspection and non-destructive testing methods as required to ensure the product being manufactured is meeting required specifications.Welding Joints: Work with a variety of welding joint configurations, such as butt joints, lap joints, and fillet welds, depending on the project's specifications.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while performing TIG and MIG welding, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety regulations.Material Handling: Safely handle and move aluminum materials and welded components during the welding process.Training: Assist in training and mentoring of Welder I employees.Production Monitoring: Monitor the manufacturing process to maintain a steady workflow and promptly address any deviations or inefficiencies. This also includes daily production reports, tally sheets, scrap reports, etc. Must be able to understand the job orders and interact with Epicor.Documentation: Accurately record production data in Epicor, machine settings, and maintenance activities to maintain production records and assist in process improvement efforts.Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including supervisors, fabricators, and quality control personnel, to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) which are necessary to properly operate the equipment and manufacture the product.Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate hand tools necessary to set-up, take apart, troubleshoot, and to operate equipment. Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components to ensure proper functioning and extend equipment lifespan.Perform other projects and duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Skilled in using measuring tools and weld quality inspection.Familiar with welding codes and standards e.g., AWS, ASME).High school diploma or GED required.Strong proficiency in TIG and MIG welding techniques on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum, to produce high-quality welds with minimal defects.Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and engineering drawings.Familiarity with different grades and types of aluminum and their corresponding welding requirements.Basic understanding of shop safety procedures and PPE usage.Able to follow instructions and work under supervision.Two plus years of experience welding in a manufacturing environment.Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.Weld small and large components such as steel tubing, aluminum, and stainless steel.Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English.Completion of a basic welding course or vocational training program in welding.Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc. and to keep accurate account of materials used during manufacturing process including scrap amounts.Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basisFrequent lifting, standing, bending & reaching requiredAble to pass a pre-employment physical and drug testWKND Shift - Friday - Sunday: 5:00am - 5:30pm
