Insurance Coverage Attorney | Hybrid – Garden City, NY | $150,000–$210,000 Good insurance coverage attorneys are rarely short of options. The Opportunity I'm working with a well-regarded New York law firm that's continuing to invest in and expand its Insurance Coverage team. The practice advises insurers on a broad range of complex coverage matters and disputes, offering a good balance of advisory work, litigation and direct client exposure. You'll work closely with experienced partners, but you'll also be trusted with meaningful responsibility and encouraged to take ownership of your matters. Importantly, the firm isn't only considering attorneys from a pure coverage background. If you've developed strong experience within insurance defense or insurance litigation and are interested in broadening your practice into coverage, they'd be interested in speaking with you too. What Will You Be Doing? You'll advise insurer clients on coverage issues and disputes, while managing matters through litigation where required. Your work will include: Advising clients on insurance coverage and policy issues Managing coverage disputes from inception through resolution Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs and legal opinions Representing clients in state and federal courts Developing case and litigation strategy alongside experienced attorneys Building direct relationships with insurer clients It’s a role that gives you the opportunity to develop both the technical coverage side of your practice and your broader litigation experience. Who Are They Looking For? Ideally, you'll have around 2–8 years of experience within insurance coverage, insurance litigation, insurance defense or a closely related area. You’ll need admission to the New York Bar, alongside strong writing, analytical and client-facing skills. And if your background doesn’t tick every single box, don't let that stop you from having a conversation.
