A well respected and coveted plaintiff's personal injury law firm seeks a qualified paralegal to join their growing office located in New Hyde Park, NY!
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Intakes and organizes case files for new and existing clients
- Maintains case management system by uploading all client documents
- Keeps clients informed on a regular basis by maintaining contact with client; communicating case progress
- Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences, preparing pleadings, etc.
- Monitor and obtain discovery responses
- Request medical records from providers
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS :
- 4+ years experience as a legal assistant or case manager
- Able to step into an active caseload
- Personal Injury case management experience is a MUST
- Workers' Compensation case management experience is a plus
- Bi-lingual Spanish a plus
- Experience using a case management system
- Strong Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to manage a large caseload in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills
- Strong client/colleague communication skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
