Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU position requiring critical care and NICU experience along with RRT certification.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital with 418 staffed beds
• Works in the NICU unit with potential to float between units
• Patient ratio of 1:15
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• Block schedule required
• 48 hour work weeks approved
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Critical care and NICU experience required
• RRT certification required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
• Compact state license must be in hand at time of consideration
• License required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to neonatal patients in the NICU setting
• Perform airway management, suctioning, intubation assist, and extubation
• Manage ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, and oscillating ventilators
• Administer inhaled medications and manage pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Interpret arterial blood gases and perform arterial punctures
• Any scrub color accepted
• No parking fee at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the consideration process
• First-time travelers considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50 mile radius
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must be outside a 50 mile radius of the facility
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
