Lead Functional Test Engineer

Job Title : Lead Functional Test Engineer Location : San Francisco, CA, United States Job Type : Full-Time Job Summary Job Summary : Makani Networks has a newly created position for a Lead Functional Test Engineer for its line of optimization appliances. This engineer will lead a small group in black-box testing of custom-configured Makani appliances, report results, and suggest new methods of improving test processes. The successful candidate will have the hands‑on technical expertise and leadership experience to inspire, motivate, and drive a small group. Responsibilities Responsibilities include writing and executing functional test plans in both Linux and Windows environments. This position affords close interaction with our development teams to resolve issues identified during functional testing. Makani’s optimization appliances are to be deployed in a myriad of customer optimization environments in conjunction with multiple hardware from different vendors; thus, the functional test plan in anticipation of each customer deployment will be unique. This position affords the opportunity to work with a wide variety of hardware, along with many different networking, clustering, replication, and backup strategies. Qualifications Testing experience with any or all of SAN, clustering, replication, RAID, and backup strategies. The successful candidate will understand clustering and know its typical issues. Experience configuring, troubleshooting and operating optimization in a Linux environment. Ability to understand and troubleshoot Perl scripts. Ability to conduct disciplined testing of product versions in multiple optimization environments. Windows experience is a plus. Additional Attributes File system testing experience.
