Assistant Manager / Shift Lead

Front of House Manager

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding and training for FOH staff
• Maintain and update training manuals and procedures (minimum quarterly review).
• Create training checklists, service standards, station guides, and coaching plans.
• Conduct skills assessments and document training completion and performance issues.

Operations & Service Leadership

• Act as manager on duty for lunch or dinner shifts when needed.
• Establish and enforce service, appearance, hospitality, cleanliness, and sidework standards.
• Coach team members and develop future trainers and shift leads.
• Support staffing readiness, cross-training, and coverage planning.

Communication & Documentation

• Serve as the main FOH training and readiness coordinator.
• Communicate with ownership, the GM, kitchen leadership, and events leadership.
• Track performance, retraining needs, and process improvements.

Ideal Qualifications

• 35+ years of restaurant FOH leadership experience.
• Fine dining or upscale restaurant experience preferred.
• Experience creating training programs and coaching adult learners.
• Strong organization, POS knowledge, service sequencing, and hospitality skills.
