Payroll Specialist

Location: Pasadena, CA
Compensation: $30.00-$38.00 hourly

Our client, a respected professional services firm in Pasadena, is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. This assignment is expected to last a minimum of six months and offers an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with complex payroll data and reporting. The ideal candidate will have recent experience processing high-volume payroll, strong reporting skills, and hands-on expertise with ADP Workforce Now. Advanced Excel proficiency is required, including the ability to work with large datasets using Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume payroll accurately and timely for a multi-employee workforce
• Review payroll data, audit payroll transactions, and ensure accuracy of employee earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now to process payroll and maintain employee records
• Generate and analyze payroll reports for management, HR, and Finance teams
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
• Perform payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure data integrity
• Assist with payroll-related reporting, special projects, and process improvements
• Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing
• Support month-end and year-end payroll activities as needed

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent payroll processing experience
• Experience processing high-volume payroll
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now is required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
  • Pivot Tables
  • VLOOKUPs
  • Data analysis and reporting
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Pay Details: $30.00 to $38.00 per hour
