Instrumentation & Controls Technician

Instrumentation & Controls TechnicianPerform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety and performance standards. Support the maintenance team by ensuring the accuracy and reliability of control systems, sensors, and instrumentation in the facility.Perform routine maintenance and calibration of I&C equipment, including sensors, transmitters, control valves, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation and control system issues to ensure continuous and reliable operation of the facility's processes.Assist in implementing and monitoring preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and enhance system.Conduct inspections and diagnostics on control systems to identify potential failures and implement corrective actions.Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, calibration data, and system performance.Adhere to safety protocols during all instrumentation and control tasks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and facility regulations.Collaborate with other maintenance and operations teams to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities.Provide feedback to supervisors on equipment performance and suggest improvements for maintenance strategies.Assist with the installation and commissioning of new I&C equipment and systems.Professional/Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:5+ years of experience in instrumentation and control maintenance, specifically in the water treatment industry, with 3+ years in the operation and maintenance (O&M) phase.Strong knowledge of I&C systems, including sensors, transmitters, control valves, and control systems.Experience in process instrumentation such as flow, pressure, level, temperature meters.Experience in analytical instrumentation such as pH, ORP, turbidity chlorine meter and other specific analytic meters.Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation and control issues effectively and efficiently.Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance managementEducational/Vocational Qualifications:Diploma or certification in instrumentation engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.Hands-on training or certifications in instrumentation and control systems (desirable).Personal Competencies:Strong problem-solving skills and attention toAbility to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-pacedGood communication skills for reporting and collaborating with teamCommitment to safety, quality, and continuousFull-time position with potential overtime based on operational needs.Availability for on-call support and emergency response asMobility within the region may be required for on-site maintenanceCompensation and Benefits: Pay is commensurate with experience and market-reflective.
