Accountant

Position:Accountant Location:Honolulu Salary:$65,000 – $75,000 – depending on experience Local company seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join their growing team. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, customer-focused, and able to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments Key Responsibilities: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Prepare, review, and process customer invoices Reconcile customer payments and account balances Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules Prepare monthly financial and revenue reports Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses Support external audits and tax preparation activities Maintain accounting records, contracts, and supporting documentation Respond to customer and vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar ERP systems preferred.
